Scissor & Fork exists because the old way was never good enough. It was built in response to burnout, exploitation, and systems that asked artists to give everything while receiving very little in return. This space was created to do things differently on purpose.
We believe artists deserve autonomy, fair pay, rest, and respect. Ethical labor is not a trend here. It is the foundation. Every choice at Scissor & Fork is made with the understanding that sustainable work requires care for the people doing it. When artists are supported fully, the work becomes more honest, more powerful, and more human.
Scissor & Fork is also a gathering place. A space for community, for conversation, for nourishment, and for shared experience. We believe beauty and food are both acts of care, and that creating space for people to slow down and connect is a radical act in itself. It is a place built with intention.
We are here to challenge what a salon and café can be. To center people over profit. To honor time, craft, and creativity. To build something rooted in empathy, dignity, and collective care.
